The HotSeam™ roof ice prevention system attaches to existing standing seam metal roofs to create melt pathways on metal roof decks. This revolutionary NEW patent-pending system utilizes a 12-watt/ft. commercial-grade, self-regulating heat cable to prevent the formation of ice dams that can form higher up on a metal roof structure.
HotSeam is designed to firmly press heat cable against the existing metal roof panel along the standing seams, conducting thermal energy directly to the exposed roof panel to create a melt path down to the roof’s edge. HotSeam should be used in conjunction with HotEdge on the roof edge to ensure snowmelt does not refreeze to form icicles or ice dams on the roof eaves.
When installed, a retention device clamps to the raised seam providing a padded loop to securely hold the 12-watt heat cable in place. HotSeam requires no roof clips, no penetration of the roof deck and no cutting, modification, or removal of the existing metal roofing material.
