The HotSeam™ roof ice prevention system attaches to existing standing seam metal roofs to create melt pathways on metal roof decks. This revolutionary NEW patent-pending system utilizes a 12-watt commercial-grade, self-regulating heat cable that is UL Listed for roof and gutter deicing to prevent the formation of ice dams that can form higher up on a metal roof structure.
HotSeam is designed to fi rmly press heat cable against the existing metal roof panel along the standing seams, conducting thermal energy directly to the exposed roof panel to create a melt path down to the roof’s edge. The HotSeam rail should be used in conjunction with the HotEdge system on the roof edge to ensure snowmelt does not refreeze to form icicles or ice dams on the roof eaves.
When installed, a retention device clamps to the raised seam, providing a padded loop to securely hold the 12-watt commercial-grade, self-regulating heat cable in place. HotSeam requires no roof clips; no penetration of the roof deck; and no cutting, modifi cation, or removal of the existing metal roofi ng material.
- ENERGY EFFICIENT.
Directly transfers heat to the metal roof panels for maximum effi ciency.
Heat cable positioned directly against metal roof panel creates melt pathways for snowmelt.
- COMMERCIAL GRADE.
HotSeam panels and system components are constructed from roofi ng-grade material.
- SIMPLE INSTALLATION.
Secures to raised roof seams with simple clamps, providing fast and easy installation and minimizing costs.
- NO ROOF PENETRATION.
Utilizes a non-penetrating clamp to maintain the integrity of the roof deck structure.
- NO MODIFICATIONS.
Designed to easily attach to all raised seams on metal roof structures.
- MULTIPLE COLOR SELECTION.
Aesthetically blends in with the roof architecture.
- EASY MAINTENANCE.
Heat cables are easily accessible for inspection and replacement at the end of their service life.
Heat cable is protected from UV light and sliding or shifting snow/ice to ensure longevity. Industry-leading 10-year limited warranty covers heat cable failures and manufacturing defects.
- MATERIAL SELECTION.
26 gauge (.019") galvanized 50,000 psi steel or .021" copper. Available in .032" or .027" aluminum upon request.
Available in 12 stock colors using a 20-year Siliconized Modifi ed Polyester (SMP) Paint System on painted galvanized steel, or in natural copper.
- HEATING SYSTEM.
Commercial-grade 12-watt self-regulating heat cable, UL Listed for roof and gutter deicing.
HotSeam rail, heat cable and hardware.
- HOTSEAM RAIL DIMENSIONS.
Available in 5' and 10' lengths with optional mounting slots and fasteners included.
- ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS.
